Lottery officials in the United States have said that at this moment in time, there is still no winner having come forth to claim a lottery jackpot prize which is worth more than $520m. The winner comes from Florida, although at this moment in time nobody is claiming it.
Despite heavy media coverage of the win in the USA, there is still one winner who has not yet claimed their share of a mammoth prize. In total, there were three winners in the $1.6 billion lotto jackpot. A winner in Tennessee has claimed their prize, although winners in both Florida and California are yet to come forth.
Normally players only have 180 days to claim their prize, and given that the draw was on January 13, the clock is ticking. The officials in Florida aren’t terribly worried, though, as they claim it can often take a long time for the eventual winners to step forward.
Sometimes, players wish to seek a lawyer in order to make their claiming the deal as smooth as possible, or they sometimes wish the media frenzy to die down. There can be any number of reasons why somebody would wish to delay announcing their lottery, and it is their right to delay.
The winning numbers in the Powerball lotto were 4, 8, 19, 27, 34, and the Powerball was number 10. Normally, the prize is worth around $8m during the first year, with the rest paid over 30 years. So buy lottery tickets online for a chance to win.
The win is the first in the Powerball since November 4, and as the prize snowballed it got larger and larger. The winner would become one of the largest lotto prize winners ever – in fact, it can be argued that their win would be the largest, since Spain’s El Gordo jackpot is shared amongst many hundreds of players.
