Several big lotto wins were reported last week from across the globe. It has been a fairly productive week for lottery winners, promising a cracking end to a big paying November.
Over in Novaliches, Quezon City, Philippines, one lucky player managed to bag a cool P6.9 million prize in the 6/42 Lotto game. The PCSO (Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office) have reported that the player used a standard bet, with the winning numbers of 4, 6, 12, 16, 32 and 36 being drawn. A total of 14 players won the secondary prize, which was wort P25,000.
The amount won in that lotto is peanuts compared to what one lucky player recently won in the Euro Millions. Friday’s grand drawing saw the jackpot paid out to a Portuguese player who bought a lottery ticket online. The Coimbra based player scooped an impressive €163.5 million prize. The player had place a €10 bet (with 5 lines at €2 each) when he won his prize. A total of 58 Portuguese players have won the Euro Millions since it began in 2004, with the largest win being €190 million. Last week’s draw was won with the 4, 30, 34, 46, and 49 numbers, with 7 and 8 being the Lucky Stars.
Over in Auckland, New Zealand, another millionaire was made, when the Lotto First Division prize was won. The player didn’t manage to win the Powerball jackpot, though, which stands at a total of $9 million, when it is drawn on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, it wasn’t all roses and champagne. Over in Canada, the Lotto 6-49 jackpot – which stood at $10.3 million – remained unwon. The Saturday night draw drew a blank, with players now expecting to be able to win as much as $15 million in the next drawing on November 25. Indeed, the last time that this lotto paid out was on November 5, when an Ontario based player scooped a $5 million prize.
